Ray Underwood
Ray began his dog obedience career when he was a teenager in Britain. Over the years, Ray has had much success in competitive obedience training, the most memorable being his participation at Crufts, a very prestigious dog show in Britain.
Ray immigrated to Canada 30 years ago where he opened “Underwood’s Dog Obedience”. He has since competed himself and has trained others in Obedience, French Ring Sport, Protection, Musical Freestyle, Service Dogs and more. He has received top scores and accolades in all areas.
Ray was instrumental in the creation of Canine Freestyle in the mid-90s and was a founding member and long time Board member with WCFO (World Canine Freestyle Organization.) He is currently the President of Paws 2 Dance, the governing body for Freestyle in Western Canada.
He received the “Top Trainer of the Year Award” in 2015 and again in 2016 from the World Canine Freestyle Organization and was also a contestant in America’s Got Talent Season 14. He was in the final 80 out of an original 40,000!
Ray currently trains and shares his home with three Border Collies; Merlin, Wizard and Magic.
Magic
Magic is an 10 year old Border Collie with a ton of spunk! She is also a mother of two, Bobby and Jazz. Bobby is following in his mother’s footsteps in performing a high level of Canine Freestyle.
Magic was Ray’s partner on the adventure to Los Angeles for America’s Got Talent, and she loved it! She made so many friends and was royally spoiled!
Magic has been training with Ray since she was a baby and has plans to continue learning and growing for at least another 5 years!
