Routines - Sequences!
Time to take the plunge and put it all together!
This class can be taken as a continuation of Freestyle, Foundations or on it’s own for more experienced Freestylers. This is a repeat class that can either be taken for the first time, or as a continuation of the previous Routines class. The degree of difficulty will be adjusted to accommodate the students enrolled.
You will be putting elements together in some interesting and slightly more Advanced sequences and adding your Handler movement to take them through to a “finished” state that you can use in your routines. The Instructor will choreograph several sequences that you and your dog will learn over the 6 weeks.
Using the elements you already have trained, you will:
- train the dog’s part in the sequences; tricks and transitions
- learn your part; hand, body and foot placement
- then learn how best to put them all together to music!
Prerequisites:
- Front weaves
- Back weaves
- Down
- Crawling
- Rollovers
- a good grasp on Heeling Positions
Students will also have access to an online video of their class each week within 2 days of the live class. These videos will remain available to them for 2 weeks after the class finishes.
Level: Intermediate/Advanced
This level of class is appropriate for Handler & Dog teams who have taken at least 2 of our Foundations classes or Beginner/Intermediate classes from other organizations. It is assumed that they have basic heeling skills and positions such as Sit, Down, Stay, etc. It is also expected that they will have the prerequisites listed above.
